The first trailer has officially dropped for the HBO Max documentary, On the Record, which portrays sexual assault allegations made against Russell Simmons. The documentary is set to premiere on 5/27 while much of America potentially continues to quarantine.
The documentary showcases Sil Lai Abrams and Sheri Sher with a central focus on Drew Dixon. Dixon claims she experienced “prolonged and aggressive sexual harassment” from Simmons. The Def Jam-co founder has vehemently denied the allegations, which is included in the documentary.
Filmmakers Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering continued to pursue the project even after Oprah Winfrey’s company, Harpo Productions, withdrew backing for ‘On The Record’ in January of his year. Watch the trailer up top.
