Former President of The United States Barack Obama has issued a statement on the “death of George Floyd.” The statement comes four days following the public, broad-daylight lynching of Floyd at the hands of four Minneapolis police officers. Former President Obama’s tweet comes only one day after President Trump tweet on the ordeal by addressing the matter with the following:

For his part, Trump seems to be politicizing the matter in an election year by blaming the Democratic Party for what’s taking place in Minnesota instead of addressing the root cause of the matter which is Black people being killed by White Supremacists. Whether or not this approach backfires on the President will become evident in the months ahead.
