6ix9ine (legal namde: Daniel Hernandez) is reportedly losing his mind in jail over strong fears of having caught COVID-19 (i.e., coronavirus). The snitch rapper is requesting to be released from prison ASAP. XXL reports that Tekashi’s lawyer, Lance Lazarro, has explained to the judge who presided over his client’s case, Paul A. Engelmayer, on 3/22 that 6ix9ine has asthma and has recently had to deal with other respiratory diseases like bronchitis and sinusitis in late 2019. The snitch-rapper’s battle with these issues, according to Lazarro, was so severe that he had to be hospitalized because of it. Lazzaro also explains that Tekashi has been exhibiting shortness of breath but authorities at the prison won’t let him see a doctor.
AllHipHop obtained the letter Lazarro wrote the judge. Lazarro states about Tekashi’s situation,
“Given that Mr. Hernandez is at very high risk of death or serious complications if he contracts the coronavirus, please issue an order modifying his sentence to allow him to begin home confinement immediately. Most inmates with his 24-month sentence would already be on home confinement or a half-way house, but as your Honor may recall, Mr. Hernandez’s status as a cooperating witness and a government hold has made him ineligible for these programs.”
