Ohio Health Official Believes 100,000 Ohioans Currently Carry Coronavirus

Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton estimates 1 percent of the entire population for the State Of Ohio is carrying the Coronavirus (COVID-19). That’s more than 100,000 people, Acton said during a news conference today (3/12).

Currently, the state has five confirmed cases of the virus: three in Cuyahoga County (which contains Cleveland), one in Stark County and one in Trumbull County. In addition, there are 52 people under investigation and 333 under health supervision.

Also today, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced a ban on mass gatherings and a closing of K-12 schools.

Of primary concern for many Ohioans, and others across the country, is the immediate disruption taking place and impact it’s having on the day-to-day affairs of families and communities. People are being forced to make decisions on their toes. Hence, it’s important for people to remain calm notwithstanding the immediate pressures.
