Reports indicated there has been a rising number of cases involving landlords allegedly seeking sex from female tenants in exchange for the monthly rent.
Kevin Block, a U.S. immigration lawyer for Maui Immigration Law LLC, addressed the matter by stating, “I am concerned because reported incidents indicate a greater number of unreported incidents.” Block suggested some landlords are seeking “other arrangements” when females tenants ask about rent with some landlords even asking women to send sexual pictures of themselves as well.
This comes after new broke that only 69% of Americans who rent were able to pay their rent this past April 1 which is a direct result of companies shutting down along with furloughs and layoffs due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
