Two Chicago Gang Members Get Combined 155 Years For Executing 9-Year-Old Boy

Two Chicago members of Bang Bang Gang/Terror Dome set of the Black P Stones, Corey Morgan and Dwright Doty, have been convicted by separate juries of executing a 9-year-old child. The killing of the 9-year-old boy was a cold-blooded retaliation killing due to rival gang beef. Convicted gunman Dwright Boone-Doty, 26, will spend 90 years in prison, while 31-year-old Corey Morgan, who prosecutors overseeing the trial deemed the “driving force” behind the boy’s murder, received a 65-year sentence. The deceased boy’s father belong to the rival GD’s.

The 9-year-old, Tyshawn Lee, was playing basketball at a park after school when Morgan, Doty, and convicted getaway driver, Kevin Edwards approached little Tyshawn and eventually lured the boy into an alley with the promise of receiving a juice box. At which point, Doty is alleged to have acted as the gunman. Edwards, the getaway driver, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Assistant State’s Attorney Patrick Waller stated,

“You left his little 9-year-old body in a cold alley to die and you just drove off like he was some kind of animal…He was just an innocent little boy … Who would commit such a heinous crime?”

The killing of little Tyshawn was in retaliation to Morgan’s family’s members being shot, including his mother by the rival gang.
