OPRAH PRODUCING DOCUMENTARY ABOUT RUSSELL SIMMONS SEXUAL ASSAULT ACCUSER

Oprah Winfrey is reportedly planning to help tell part of the story of the women who have accused Russell Simmons have sexual assault in a new documentary.

According to a report the Los Angeles Times yesterday (12/3), Oprah will executive produce a new documentary focusing on “a brilliant former music executive who grapples with whether to go public with her story of assault and abuse by a notable figure in the music industry.” The LA Times states that the person at the focus of this film is Drew Dixon. Speaking with The New York Times in December 2017, Dixon accused Simmons of raping her in his Manhattan apartment in 1995.

Dixon also claims she was harassed by L.A. Reid at another record label job after leaving Def Jam. Simmons has denied the allegations of Dixon and two other women who accused him of sexual misconduct at the time.

The Sundance Film Festival is scheduled to premiere the documentary in Chicago between January 23 and February 2, 2020.
