Little Richard-The Undisputed King Of Rock And Roll-Passes Away At 87

Reports are indicating that icon Little Richard has passed away at the age of 87-years-old. The mad who laid down the blueprint for Rock-N-Roll (and other genres of music), who’s birth name is Richard Penniman, was born in 1932 and is arguably the single biggest influence on the likes of the Beatles (and countless others who came after him).

Rock ‘n’ Roll innovator and legend Little Richard has passed away at the age of 87. Little Richard–whose real name is Richard Penniman, was born in 1932 and went on to influence major acts like the Beatles, who named the musician as a significant inspiration to their sound.

Little Richard created  songs which continue to spin in rotation such as 1955 hit “Tutti-Frutti,” “Long Tall Sally,” and “Good Golly Miss Molly.” The Beatles would eventually re-record Richard’s “Long Tall Sally,” which became a worldwide hit.

Little Richard was inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and 7 years later was awarded the well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in 1993.

Charles Glenn, a guitarist for the iconic musician, gave some insight into the musician’s condition, stating that Little Richard was sick for the past two months. Little Richard reportedly passed away surrounded by his son, sister, and brother while in his Tennessee home.
