IRS Launches Registration Tool For Stimulus Checks

Taxpayers who do not normally file a tax return have been waiting the government would allow them to get their Economic Impact Payments (AKA stimulus checks). Today (4/10) the IRS announced a new what people must do.

If you’ve been hearing rumors about tax preparation companies (e.g., TurboTax or other companies) implementing methods for filing for the stimulus checks that’s because the IRS has developed a partnership with them. Still, one must file on the IRS.gov to move the process along.

Users should look for Non-filers: Enter Payment Info Here to take them directly to the tool. On the page, you’ll see the blue box at the bottom to click:

NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU ARE AT IRS.GOV UPON STARTING

When you click on Non-filers: Enter Payment Info Here it should take you to a web page where you see the following domain at the top. Notice the lock on the far left which indicated the web page is secure. According to the IRS, “Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info” is secure, and the information entered will be safe.
