Eddie Murphy returned to the Saturday Night Live stage for the final episode of 2019. Murphy assumed the role of host 35 years after he last made a regular appearance on the comedy show. The legendary comedian is considered as one of the SNL’s most successful stars to push the sketch comedy show. In his return, Murphy was joined by Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock and Tracy Morgan.
To open the show, Murphy jokes,
“It’s good to be here. This is the last episode of 2019, but if you’re Black, this is the first episode since I left back in 1984.”
