Lil Wayne (Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr.) was a passenger on a private plane stopped and searched a short while ago by the Fedz at Miami-Opa locka Executive Airport. Somebody tipped off police about drugs possibly being on board the private plane, according to law enforcement authorities overseeing the search who didn’t receive a search warrant until late this afternoon to raid the plane.

It’s still too soon to know if any arrests have been made. The search was conducted by FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and local Miami-Dade police officers. If anyone on board the plane is charged tonight then they’ll more than likely spend Christmas is jail at the Federal Detention Center in downtown Miami while waiting to appear in federal court come Thursday (following Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to to the court being closed on these days).
The plane is a Gulfstream G-V capable of accommodating up to 14 passengers and crew and was flying in from California. Lil Wayne owns a 10,000-square-foot luxury home in Miami Beach.
