Bay Area Rapper Kafani Arrested for Ousting EX-Girlfriend-Turned-FBI Informant in His Case Over IG

It was only two weeks ago when we reported on Bay Area rapper Kafani being arrested for allegedly taking part in a multi-million dollar fraud operation. The Mercury News reports the group involved in the alleged scheme took out a $325,000 loan on one victim. In another instance, they ordered nearly one million in gold bars from Beverly Hills which triggered the FBI. The FBI eventually had $300 in silver bars sent to a location in Vallejo where $24,000 worth of gold was to be delivered. The FEDZ monitored the situation and eventually busted a person driving a car registered in the name of Kafani’s brother. The FBI had also placed a wiretap on the Oakland rapper’s phone.

Upon released from jail, Kafani put out the video above on IG where the rapper claimed his ex-girlfriend was tipping off his P/O along with the FEDZ with faulty information. Kafani captioned his post by stating, “You innocent till proven guilty! I just want to have my day in court! Thank you to all my family and supporters who continue to support me. I like to thank courts for giving me a 250,000 bail to be able to give me a fair chance to fight my case. Watch them snakes šŸ”

Unfortunately for Kafani, this federal prosectors, who had been monitoring his moves, convinced the judge that statements made in the video amounted to witness intimidation leading to his arrest today (3/6). Judge Spero told Kafani, “I think you just blew off the courtā€™s order. You need to know how serious this is when you do something like this.”

Kafani, upon being released on a $250,000 bond, was ordered to avoid using social media except for business purposes. The rapper’s lawyer argued that the IG seen above was only published in order to clear his client’s name following the high-profile arrest mentioned above and further claimed his client did not know the woman (Kafani’s ex) was a witness in the case. Judge Spero responded by stating, “You know from those emails that she was a witness. So donā€™t give me that, ‘I didnā€™t know she was a witness’ stuff ā€” thatā€™s just reaching out there. Youā€™ve got stuff to say here and I would keep your mouth shut. Your lawyer is doing a fine job, sheā€™s a great lawyer. Donā€™t mess it up.”

Kafani was charged today (3/6), along with his three co-defendants: Susan Arreola-Martin, Christopher Pool and Tyrone Jones. All four are accused of taking part in a scheme where they would steal identities of victims and use them to open loans and purchase gold. Kafani was on supervised release while taking part in the alleged scheme after serving 39 months for similar fraud charges.
