A source close to the White House spoke with Vanity Fair recently about the President’s concerns regarding coronavirus, revealing that Trump is worried about the possibility of journalists purposefully giving him the virus. The same Vanity Fair piece states that the President has commanded the Secret Service to set up screening process which will bar anyone with a cough from entering into the White House. The source states, “He’s definitely melting down over this.”
A prominent Republican also spoke about the President being a “famous germaphobe,” which means Trump is reportedly OCD-like when it comes to germs, “He hates it if someone is eating nachos and dips a chip back in after taking a bite. He calls them ‘double-dippers.'” While some people in the public health sector are pushing for Trump to cancel his rallies amid fear of the coronavirus spreading, those close to Trump say that “He may take suggestions to stop shaking hands, but in terms of shutting stuff down, his position is: ‘No, I’m not going to do it.'”
