POP SMOKE POSSIBLY KILLED OVER TIES TO CRIPS

Pop Smoke possibly has been shot and killed over his affiliation with the Crips. As we reported earlier today (2/20), the deceased Brooklyn rapper’s shooting appears more and more to have been a targeted hit as opposed to a robbery (see here).

After Pop Smoke and his lifetime friend, Mike Dee, both accidentally posted their Hollywood Hills address to social media while dripping in jewelry and Louis Vuitton with other posts showcasing stacks of cash, speculation ran rampant the rapper was the victim of a home invasion robbery gone bad.

The Los Angeles Times is reporting, however, that the LAPD is treating the case as a gang-related homicide. Detectives are under the belief the perpetrators of the attack are also gang affiliated, but have yet to establish if Pop Smoke’s shooting death was triggered by gang rivalry, authorities explained to The Los Angeles Times. LAPD Capt. Jonathan Tippet told the paper,

“There is a lot of information available….We have some work to do.”

As we previously reported,

“TMZ reports to have been instructed by people who have seen the surveillance video that four men approach the home around 4:30 AM (2/19) and sneak around back. After 3 or 4 minutes three of the four invaders walk back towards the front of the home. TMZ reports the 4th suspect is presumed to have walked in through the back door considering that this suspect is only later witnessed on camera leaving through the front door (but not entering the home via the front door as opposed to the other three alleged invaders).

It also being reported that the invaders do not appear to leave the home with any possessions. In other words, the incident does not appear to be a robbery. Inside the home, only Pop Smoke was shot. The late rapper was then rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.”

Following massive speculation over Mike Dee’s stance in the ordeal, the childhood friend took to social media in order to post the following. Catch it below. This story is still developing. We’ll have more details as they become available.
