Olive Garden Manager Fired After Honoring Racist’s Demand for Non-Black Server

Reports are indicating that an Olive Garden manager in Evansville, Indiana, was fired after reportedly complying with a diner’s request to see to it that a non-Black waiter served them.

The 16-year-old hostess, Amira Donahue, who was working the table where the racist was seated, says the racist patron made derogatory remarks about her and another Black hostess at the establishment. In addition, the racist customer also allegedly belligerently suggested to Donahue’s manager that 16-year-old Amira Donahue “should work at a strip club instead.” Donahue said the woman “asked if I’m even Black, and if I am from here” presumably questioning the girl’s country of origin status.

The racist patron was reportedly seated and began to yell at a manager who demanded to have a non-Black server to the which the manager is reported to have surprisingly complied with. Another customer witnessed the ordeal and posted about it on Facebook and also made calls to the Olive Garden’s corporate offices to point out the racist incident. Olive Garden addressed the matter after it went viral which ultimately led to the company making “the decision to separate with the manager involved,” according to a spokesperson for the restaurant.
