The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to add depth to their lineup as it prepares for the a run in the second-half of the 2019-20 season with an eye on the playoffs. The Lakers (34-9), who currently have the best records in the Western Conference, have become one of the teams positioning for the services of Derrick Rose. The one-time league MVP is currently playing for the Detroit Pistons and has been a consistent offensive weapon for his team this season.
The Philadelphia 76ers (29-16) have also expressed interest in acquiring Rose. Sources tell Yahoo! Sports’ Chris Haynes that D-Rose is happy with his current situation in Detroit and isn’t looking to be traded. However, the Pistons are the ones looking to change course as Blake Griffin is out indefinitely and they have also engaged in trade talks for their All-Star center Andre Drummond.
As of 1/12 Detroit (16-28) is in the 9th spot in the Eastern Conference and three games behind the Brooklyn Nets for the final playoff spot as the 2nd half of the season is upon us.
