Kim K. Visits Death Row Inmate Rodney Reed, Reed’s Execution Put On Hold

Kim Kardashian has reportedly visited Texas inmate Rodney Reed, according to TMZ. Reed is also on death row and was scheduled to be executed in the coming weeks.

She first publicly addressed Reed’s case last month via social media.

Kim’s husband, Kanye West, earlier this month publicly addressed the status of Reed while speaking from the 5th annual Fast Company Innovation Festival.

Kanye, Kim and the rest of the family are currently in Houston and apparently Kim K. took time out of her schedule to visit Reed. TMZ reports that Kim was granted permission to visit Reed notwithstanding the fact that it’s very difficult to receive permission to visit inmates on death row. Kanye was also interested in visiting Reed but was not granted permission.

Kim K. commented on the ordeal, stating,

“Today, I had the honor of meeting Rodney Reed in person and the privilege of sitting with him when he got the news that the highest court in Texas had issued a stay of execution and remanded the case back to the trial court for further consideration….Words cannot describe the relief and hope that swept over the room in that moment. That hope had been building over the last few weeks around Rodney’s case. We have seen Democrats and Republicans come together. We have seen grassroots activists and lawmakers link arms.”

Back on 11/4, Houston-based business man J. Prince also posted on the status of Reed. Notice his post below.

“The state of Texas executes more people than all of the other states in America combined together! They seem to put more value on a dogs’ life than African Americans and Latinos. Here’s a man #RodneyReed where evidence against him is questionable and still they have him on a 10 day countdown to take his life! – This dinosaur behavior went from lynching and dragging, to killing you in your home and by lethal injection. Let’s support this brother! #FreeRodneyReed FreeRodneyReed.com”
