Dreamville Records Launches Media and Content Company

J. Cole’s and his business associates are expanding operations at Dreamville.

It was announced this week that the label is launching Dreamville Ventures, a multi-disciplinary media company as well as Dreamville Studios, a content studio that will produce original content, according to Variety. The two new entities will  vertically integrate across music, TV and film, publishing, apparel and live events (which includes the annual Dreamville Festival).

Damien Scott, who previously was the editor-in-chief of Complex Media,  will take care of Dreamville Ventures while former senior VP of development at Wilmore Films, Candace Rodney will oversee Dreamville Studios.  J. Cole stated the following about the development:

“Dreamville has always been a mom-and-pop operation with grand ambitions and ideas that extend far beyond music. The hiring of Damien and Candace not only expands our family business with two of the smartest and most capable executives in the industry, but allows us to take a massive leap towards turning those big ideas into reality.”

Dreamville co-founder Ibrahim Hamad added, “Dreamville is a brand we built from the ground up and the appointments of Damien and Candace allows us to take the company to levels we’ve always dreamed of while keeping our core values and beliefs at the forefront of our expansion,”

Congrats, and much success, to the entire team at Dreamville.
