An associate of Suge Knight (legal name: Marion Knight) has been ordered by a court of law to pay restitution and serve probation for conspiring to sell video footage of the incarcerated former Death Row Records boss deadly hit-and-run incident.
Knight was previously charged with hit-and-run, attempted murder and murder for running down Terry Carter and Cle 'Bone' Sloan during an altercation in a Los Angeles parking lot back in 2015. Carter died as a result but Sloan survived his injuries.
In July of 2017, Knight's business partner, Mark Blankenship, and girlfriend, Toilin Kelly, were each charged with one felony count of conspiracy to violate a court order, conspiracy to obstruct justice, and conspiracy to commit grand theft charges after reportedly selling a copy of the incident's footage to TMZ editors for $55,000. The footage was sealed as evidence for Suge's trial.
Ms. Kelly reached a plea deal with prosecutors in October of 2017, allowing her to avoid a prison sentence, pleading no contest to conspiracy to violate a court order. She was hit with five years probation and forced to pay $55,000 in restitution to the owners of Tam's Burgers, where the hit-and-run took place. In addition, she sentenced to 100 hours of community service.
On Wednesday (6/12), Blankenship, who was accused of facilitating the sale, also received five years of formal probation and was likewise ordered to pay $55,000 in restitution after entering a no contest plea to one felony count of conspiracy to obstruct justice.
