Alabama Prisoner Sues 50 Cent for $150 Million, Says ‘For Life’ Is Based on Him

Aaron Lamont Johnson, 45, is suing 50 Cent for $150 after claiming in legal documents that 50 Cent, ABC, and G-Unit Films “benefited from the commercial use of his name and life story, by imitating him.” Johnson is serving out a life-sentence in an Alabama prison and claims that the TV show ‘For Life’ is actually based upon his life.

The main character of ‘For Life’ is named Aaron Wallace. According to the show’s creators the storyline is based upon the real-life story of Isaac Wright Jr., a man who was falsely accused of being a drug lord, proved his own innocence from prison and went on to become an attorney.

However, in Johnson’s lawsuit, the Alabama inmate claims that there are “numerous similarities” between the Aaron Wallace character and himself. They include, according to Johnson:

* Both have the first name “Aaron”
* Both were wrongfully convicted
* Both have legal degrees
* Both “have successfully litigated prisoners criminal cases”

* Both “have caucasian supporters [as] advocates”

The lawsuit is seeking $150 million in damages in addition to a public apology. On Wednesday (11/ 4), a federal judge gave Sinclair Television Stations LLC, an ABC affiliate named as a defendant, until 12/2/2020 to respond to the lawsuit.

According to the Alabama Department of Corrections, Aaron Lamont Johnson is situated in the William E. Donaldson Correctional Facility, where he is serving a life sentence for a 1999 murder conviction. Find the lawsuit documents below.
